Location Profile: Theta IV
Overview
Designation: Theta-IV, Former Colonised World
Location: Galactic Ring 3
Type: Lost Colony / Quarantine Zone
Known For: Mass Milark infestation, failed evacuation, high Eventum radiation levels
Planetary Profile
Environment: Theta IV was once a lush, temperate world marked by dense forests, freshwater oceans, and a thriving biosphere. Colonized primarily by Ardnant and supported by Human research enclaves, it was considered a strategic agricultural and scientific site.
Colonial Significance: Prior to its fall, Theta-IV was a key location for environmental research, agriculture, and long-term terraforming experiments. It hosted joint efforts by Coalition species, including early Eventum studies.
Fall of Theta IV
Initial Signs: Unexplained disappearances and bio-signature distortions preceded the first Milark emergence. Early scans detected anomalous Eventum Wave spikes, which were initially dismissed as instrument errors.
Outbreak: The Milark infestation began in the outskirts of the western continent, rapidly spreading to the central colonies. Attempts to quarantine sectors failed as the parasite adapted to containment protocols. Civilians began showing signs of neural corruption, stuttering, memory gaps, and eventual violent outbursts.
Evacuation Efforts: Aegis Eternum led the evacuation protocols, but resistance was met by compromised personnel. The infection rate surpassed projections, and Theta-IV was deemed unsalvageable within a week of the outbreak.
Status: Declared a no-approach zone by Aegis Eternum. Surveillance satellites remain in orbit, feeding data into A.R.S Ignition’s long-range threat tracking systems. advice has been passed the Ardnant command to eradicate the colony.
Biological Hazard
Theta IV’s infestation remains one of the most aggressive Milark events recorded. Infected organisms displayed advanced evolution stages, including:
- Neural corruption – violent outbursts, lack of control and almost vacant. Once an infected reaches this stage they are lost.
- Rapid host mutation – Skin appeared to die around the infected, drooping and tearing. A white milky substance would drip from their mouths, we are unsure what this is.
Psychological Impact
Survivors (fewer than 1% of the colony’s population) exhibited long-term emotional damage. Aegis Eternum classified the trauma from Theta IV as “Category Black”, the highest tier of mental destabilisation in known Milark incidents.
Many soldiers and officers who returned from the evacuation have since been reassigned to restricted units or under continual psychological evaluation.
Cultural & Narrative Legacy
Theta-IV has become a symbol of what happens when Milark go unchecked. It serves as a grim reminder of the stakes involved in Milark containment, and is frequently cited in training academies and political debates surrounding Eventum research.
WARNING: All missions or salvage operations targeting Theta-IV require direct authorisation from Aegis Eternum Command. Unlicensed entry will result in orbital deterrence.
