SETTING UP YOUR GAME
- First things first, each player must remove the power cards from their decks and set them aside, then shuffle their deck.
- Each player must now choose 4 power cards to be used in the game, setting aside the remaining power cards.
- The 4 power cards will be set to the left of the player, face down.
- Each player must draw 10 cards from their respective decks. This is the player’s hand. The deck must then be placed face down to the right of the player.
- The players may choose amongst themselves as to who will start. Flipping a coin or playing rock-paper-scissors is a good way to decide.
- The winner of the coin toss will be named controller of the turn. The controller of the turn gets to decide whether or not a power card will be played that turn.
- Each player must play 1 creature card every turn. To do this, each player must pick a card from their hand and lay it face down. Once both players are ready and have committed to their decision, both players flip their creature cards to reveal the creatures, their types, and their levels. At this stage in the turn, if a power card is in play, check both creatures to see if the power card is relevant to either creature. If it is, the creature’s power will be used (see diagram below). If not, then the creature’s level will be used (see diagram below). The winner of the battle is determined by the creature that has the highest level, or power if a relevant power card is in play.

Power card examples
- The winner of the battle then places the winning creature card face up in front of them, forming a winner pile, and the loser will be placed face down in front of them, forming the loser pile.
- The winner is the player with the most face-up cards at the end of the 10 cards.
- Some cards have special effects that allow you to swap cards between your hand and deck. These can be very useful and aid in victory.
- If 2 creatures have the same level, each player must take the top card from their deck and flip it over to reinforce their creature. Use the new creature’s level to decide the battle (the power card becomes invalid). If the reinforcement cards’ levels also match, keep flipping cards until there is a winner.
